SAP Evaluation near me for returning to duty
Under the guidance in Part 40 of Title 49 CFR, an individual who tests positive on an drug or alcohol test is required to undergo an SAP Evaluation near me conducted by a (SAP) and follow SAP Counselor treatment recommendations before being considered to return to a duty with hazard-sensitive characteristics. The regulations were written in this manner to ensure individuals who are experiencing drug or alcohol problems are provided with the assistance needed to reverse the situation, without fearing losing their employment. Once they have completed the SAPs recommendations, they may be considered for resuming their safe-sensitive duties. The rules define certified employee assistance professionals (CEAPs) and five other types of professionals as qualified to perform the role of the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) if the professional meets the two additional criteria provided by the rules.
